Piramida Fest 2026 Opens Its Doors: A Day to Explore Technology, Education, and Innovation in the Heart of Tirana

On October 14, the Pyramid of Tirana opened its doors for Piramida Fest 2026, a day dedicated to technology, education, innovation, and the opportunities being created for young people through the programs operating within its ecosystem.

The festival began with an official opening ceremony at the Pyramid’s main entrance, attended by Shqipe Berisha, Executive Director of the Pyramid Center; Michael Granoff, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AADF; Martin Mata, Executive Director of AADF; and representatives of the Pyramid’s programs and partners.

Once a building that had lost its purpose for many years, the Pyramid has been transformed into a dynamic space where young people learn, experiment, develop digital skills, build ideas, and connect with new professional opportunities.

During the ceremony, Martin Mata, Executive Director of AADF, highlighted the results of this transformation and the importance of creating an ecosystem that connects education with technology, innovation, and tangible opportunities for young people.

“What we promised the city of Tirana was that this building would become a symbol of young and bright minds. Three years later, that vision is now a reality. Today, you will learn about the programs, opportunities, and innovation taking place here. We are proud to present this vision to you. The future is today, and we have only just begun,” said Martin Mata, Executive Director of AADF.

Today, the Pyramid serves as a center for education and innovation, where programs such as TUMO Tirana, 42 Tirana, Plug and Play, Innovation Hub, Junior Achievement, and Protik support the development of skills and new ideas.

“This place represents everything AADF is achieving in Albania. Today, the Pyramid is a symbol of the progress Albania has made toward the future. We are creating a new ecosystem to prepare young people and beyond. We start with children as young as six and continue across all age groups.

The combination of technology and education is particularly exciting because technology creates tremendous opportunities. We are proud to be building this bridge, helping all Albanians recognize their potential. This ecosystem supports the entire journey of individuals and of Albania itself. Today is a celebration of these opportunities and a chance to showcase them,” said Michael D. Granoff, Chairman of the AADF Board of Directors.

12 Programs and Initiatives, One Pyramid Open to the Public

Piramida Fest brought together 12 programs and initiatives operating within the ecosystem, giving the public an opportunity to discover what takes place inside the Pyramid every day.

Throughout October 14, visitors had the opportunity to explore program spaces, meet the teams and young people involved, participate in activities and demonstrations, and discover opportunities in technology, digital skills, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

This is precisely the idea behind Piramida Fest: to open the Pyramid’s doors and showcase not only the transformed building, but, above all, the activities and opportunities that have taken shape within it.

While presenting the day’s program, Shqipe Berisha, Executive Director of the Pyramid Center, invited young people, students, professionals, and anyone interested in technology to explore the festival’s activities and learn more about the programs operating within the Pyramid.

“Piramida Fest represents a vision that has now become a reality. The 12 projects within the Pyramid ecosystem, funded by AADF, which has also been the catalyst behind this initiative, demonstrate that the Pyramid’s success is not measured by the number of programs, but by the results each of us achieves.”

From Transforming a Building to Building an Ecosystem

The transformation of the Pyramid was never intended solely to bring one of Tirana’s most recognizable buildings back to life. The ambition was to create a space that generates knowledge, skills, and opportunities.

Today, the programs operating within the Pyramid build bridges between young people and technology, education and the labor market, ideas and entrepreneurship, and Albanian talent and international expertise.
