Director of 42 Tirana Campus – Position Details

Position Overview

42 is a global educational network based on peer learning, without teachers. Its innovative pedagogy
enables individuals, regardless of their educational background, to pursue careers in IT. 42 Tirana
Campus, supported by the AADF and Tirana Municipality, aims to enhance education through cutting-
edge technology, a high-quality curriculum, and opportunities for both professional and personal
growth.

42 Tirana seeks to bridge the digital divide, empower aspiring tech professionals, and drive the growth
of Albania’s tech industry.

Basic Purpose

The Director of Campus (hereinafter referred to as DC) is responsible for overseeing the
establishment of 42 Tirana. The DC will manage the team and all operational aspects of the campus.
DC will actively contribute to the economic development of the establishment by leveraging their
network and skills (such as prospecting and securing contracts with new stakeholders) and by serving
as the primary point of contact for key partners.

Principal Responsibilities

– General Management: Overseeing administration, economic development, education, technology,
communication, and team management, among other areas.
– Creation and Management of the 42 Tirana Campus: Defining governance terms and structuring
the economic and operational model in alignment with the network of 42 Campuses and in
accordance with the 42 charter and framework.
– Mobilization of Resources: Identifying and securing the human, financial, and material resources
necessary for the campus’s opening and ongoing management, which includes engaging public and
private partners, coordinating site facilities and equipment, and organizing and leading a team.
– Financial Development: Fostering the establishment’s ecosystem while ensuring effective financial tracking and management.
– Implementation of Communication and Prospecting Strategies: Developing and executing a
communication plan and a prospecting strategy, while connecting with various components of the
local ecosystem, including businesses, sectors, and communities.

Secondary Responsibilities

– External Representation of the Campus: Acting as the primary representative of the Campus in
external engagements and public forums.
– Internal Representation of the Campus: Facilitating relations and communication with students,
fostering a positive campus environment and supporting their needs.
– Risk Management: Leading and coordinating responses during crises, ensuring effective
communication and resolution strategies are in place.

Required Knowledge and Experience

– At least 5 years of relevant work experience preferably in technology, communication, or public
relations.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Strong understanding of current trends and technologies.
– Proven experience in building and maintaining relationships with relevant institutions.
– Familiarity with the 42 Ecosystem will be an asset.
– Demonstrated experience in developing, conducting, and managing complex projects.
– Ability to generate innovative ideas and project proposals.
– Experience in fostering collaboration between public and private stakeholders.
– Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
– Experience in budgeting and financial oversight.
– Proficient in writing, analysis, and synthesis in English (knowledge of French is a plus).
– Ability to identify and secure financial and other resources.
– Skilled in identifying and engaging with key partners and resource individuals.
– Ability to take initiative, listen actively, and propose creative solutions.
– Self-motivated and detail – oriented.
– Strong relational skills and the ability to build rapport.
– Capable of navigating complex situations with sensitivity and flexibility.
