Lisbon Inspires New Vision for Sustainable Tourism in Albania

The AADF continues to lead efforts to foster sustainable tourism in Albania, with a recent study tour in Lisbon aimed at learning from the city’s best practices. Lisbon, known not only for its rich cultural and historical heritage but also as the economic powerhouse of Portugal, provided a solid ground for discussions on innovative tourism models.

Representatives from key Albanian institutions, including the municipalities of Pogradec and Vlora, the National Agency of Protected Areas, and the TID Vlora Association, participated in the tour. These meetings were part of AADF’s broader initiative to ensure that Albania’s tourism sector grows sustainably, with projects like the Drilon Tushemisht Water Park.

The study tour provided an opportunity for stakeholders to exchange ideas and explore new models of tourism development that can be tailored to Albania’s unique landscape. The participants left with inspiration and practical insights, which will be applied to ongoing projects aimed at balancing economic growth with environmental sustainability.

Through such initiatives, AADF is not only working to enhance Albania’s tourism potential but also ensuring that this growth benefits local communities and preserves the country’s natural beauty for future generations.
