Visit to a School Implementing ElementIT in the 2nd Grade

In an engaging showcase of the power of technology education, the “Lasgush Poradeci” school’s ICT laboratory buzzed with excitement as twenty young students embarked on a coding adventure. The activity was hosted in the state-of-the-art ICT lab, a product of the collaborative efforts between the Albanian-American Development Foundation (AADF) and the Albanian Government.

The event was honored with the presence of notable figures including Mrs. Bora Muzhaqi, Minister of State for Youth and Children, and Mrs. Mirlinda Karcanaj, General Director of AKSHI. Their participation underscored the government’s support for integrating technology education into the national curriculum.

Mr. Michael D. Granoff, Chairman of the AADF Board of Trustees, also joined the class, expressing his enthusiasm for the foundation’s commitment to fostering digital skills among young learners. “xxx” Granoff noted. This initiative has led to the provision of computer infrastructure across 100 Albanian schools and the development of a specialized ICT curriculum. Additionally, CodeMonkey has been made available in 350 schools, enriching the educational landscape with valuable programming tools.

This event not only highlighted the practical skills students gained but also celebrated the broader impact of such initiatives in preparing Albanian youth for future challenges.

As Albania continues to invest in its youth, the collaboration between AADF, the government, and educational institutions remains key in the nation’s strategy to enhance its educational standards and prepare its students for the digital age.
