Driving Albania’s ICT Sector Forward: A Pivotal Force in Bridging the Skills Gap

The AADF recognizes the pivotal role of the ICT sector in Albania, driving economic development, fostering innovation, creating jobs, and positioning the country competitively on the global stage.

Launched by the AADF in December 2019, the Coding Academy by Protik is a training initiative designed to bridge the skills gap in the burgeoning ICT sector. It offers skilled professionals, regardless of age and experience, including those without prior ICT experience, an opportunity to pursue careers in technology at a relatively low cost.

The academy launched an ambitious national expansion plan in 2023, aiming to train and certify over 750 students annually across eight major cities.

The Coding Academy by Protik is a collaboration between the Protik ICT Resource Center—an offshoot of the AADF—and international expertise in software development training. The Albanian government has generously provided the facilities where the academy is located, right in the center of Tirana.

By increasing the number of highly skilled coders and developers, Albania will meet domestic market demand and position itself competitively in the fast-paced global ICT industry.
