04/05/2026 Education & Leadership AADF, Protik, and General Assembly sign a strategic partnership to advance digital skills and human capital in Albania The Albanian-American Development Foundation (AADF), in partnership with Protik Innovation Center and the global technology education company General Assembly, has officially launched a three-year strategic collaboration aimed at strengthening digital skills and developing human capital in Albania. The agreement was signed during a ceremony held at the Innovation Hub at the Pyramid of Tirana, in the presence of high-level government representatives, including the Minister of Economy and Innovation, Ms. Delina Ibrahimaj, representatives from the U.S. Embassy, members of the AADF Board, representatives from General Assembly, international partners from the Adecco Group, and representatives from technology companies. This partnership aims to deliver advanced training programs in Artificial Intelligence (AI), software development, and education technology (EdTech), directly addressing labor market needs and creating tangible employment opportunities for participants. “Technology is not just transforming how we work—it is redefining how societies compete and how individuals build their futures. For Albania, this is a unique moment to leap forward, to equip its people with world-class skills, and to fully integrate into the global economy. At AADF, we have always believed in bringing the best models from around the world and adapting them locally. This partnership reflects exactly that approach—ensuring that learning becomes lifelong, that talent remains competitive, and that Albania is not just keeping pace with change, but actively shaping its future.” – expressed the Chairman of AADF Board, Mr. Michael D. Granoff. The program is designed to support students, young professionals, and mid-career individuals by providing pathways into the technology sector, as well as opportunities for upskilling and reskilling. Through a blended financing model, AADF will offer financial support and scholarships to selected participants, reducing economic barriers and encouraging active participation. The program will be implemented through an integrated structure where each partner plays a distinct role: AADF will provide financial support and strategic direction; Protik Innovation Center will lead local implementation and talent engagement; and General Assembly will bring global expertise in technology education and curriculum development. “In the process of European Union integration, Albania faces the challenge of adapting to an increasingly competitive market. To succeed, we must strengthen the capacities of small and medium-sized enterprises, which make up over 85% of the economy, and invest sustainably in talent development. This memorandum creates a concrete opportunity to upgrade the skills of tomorrow and to fully leverage the digital transformation shaping our future.” – Mrs. Delina Ibrahimaj, Minister of EconInnovation Training will include intensive bootcamps (420–480 hours) as well as shorter courses (40–50 hours), designed according to international standards and focused on practical, project-based learning delivered through a hybrid format combining online and in-person instruction. “This agreement goes beyond a formal partnership—it is a platform for innovation, accountability, and measurable results. Together, we are creating the conditions to ensure that AI becomes a tool for inclusion and progress, unlocking new opportunities for talent in Albania. I am confident that, in the years ahead, this initiative will stand as a tangible example of what strong collaboration can achieve for the country and its future workforce.” – said Ms. Bettina Schaller, Head of Public Affairs, Adecco Group. Through General Assembly’s connection with the Adecco Group, a global leader in workforce solutions, the program aims to create concrete bridges between training and employment, supporting participants in their integration into the labor market. This partnership is expected to contribute to the country’s digital transformation and to the development of a skilled workforce capable of meeting the demands of the global economy. Gallery
