Albanian Jewish Museum Project Gains Key Approval

The National Council of Museums and the National Council of Cultural Heritage have given their approval to the preliminary project idea for the creation of the Albanian Jewish Museum in Vlora. This project, developed by AADF in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, the Municipality of Vlora, and the Albanian Jewish community, seeks to establish a contemporary institution that will narrate a remarkable story of coexistence, trust, and hope.

With the guidance of Prof. Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett, the AADF has formulated a proposal that aspires to be unique in Albania and the region. This crucial initial decision marks the beginning of the design and development of the subsequent phases of the museum project.

The museum, will be a “must” cultural destination for both tourists and the Jewish community and will serve as a catalyst for economic development in the area.
