High School Debaters Tackle Big Questions

Many of our current debates, such as those concerning the impact of artificial intelligence, are influenced by lack of understanding and apprehension. By engaging in open discussions on these issues, we can dispel fears and develop a more comprehensive understanding of the factors at play.

The National Championship of High School Debate, organized by JAA, aimed to address these subjects through the perspectives of some of Albania’s most talented debaters. Out of the 16 participating teams, two advanced to the final round: the debating teams from Naim Frashëri High School in Durrës and Ernest Koliqi High School in Tirana.

In an intense final match, Naim Frashëri High School emerged victorious, earning the opportunity to represent Albania in the upcoming World School Debate Competition 2023 in Hanoi. By honing their debating skills, students not only develop essential competencies such as critical thinking, effective communication, and persuasion but also foster respectful engagement. These skills, combined with the acquired confidence and self-assurance, serve as valuable assets for their personal and professional growth.
