Preserving Cultural Heritage: A Glimpse into the State-of-the-Art National Digitization Unit

Working on the preservation of cultural and historical artifacts is akin to leaving a lasting personal imprint on history. During their inaugural visit to the state-of-the-art imaging studios of the National Digitization Unit, the AADF Board of Trustees, joined by Minister Margariti, had the opportunity to observe the meticulous process in which specialists from the Archaeological Museum in Durrës digitize 3D objects.

These specialists were guided by trainers from Cultural Heritage Imaging, an American nonprofit organization, dedicated to advancing the state of the art of digital capture and documentation of the world’s cultural, historic, and artistic treasures.

The project is now advancing into its second phase, which is dedicated to training museum specialists. It aims to disseminate contemporary knowledge and modern technology to all national museums in the country.
