AADF Supports Detailed Project Design for “Çerçiz Topulli” Square

The AADF will support the development of a detailed project design for the revitalization of the “Çerçiz Topulli” Square in Gjirokastra following a surge in the number of visitors, especially during tourist season.

Due to increased road traffic and the high number of vehicles, ensuring off-street parking facilities has become a necessity. The project foresees underground parking facilities along the “Çerçiz Topulli” Square and the old town of Gjirokastra. The project design will preserve the architectural identity and values of the historic center of Gjirokastra which was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in recognition of the importance of its architecture and unique values.
