MIP – Internship Program

Enhancing capacities through work placement

The AADF has established and developed the MIP Professional Fellowship Program to offer exceptional opportunities to highly talented young professionals and future Albanian leaders. The program’s goal is to enhance their management and technical capacities, improve their career prospects, and ultimately contribute to Albania’s development.

This is achieved by providing short-term international day-to-day professional experiences in the fields of Education, Technology and Innovation, Business and Entrepreneurship, Tourism and Ecotourism, Culture, Law, and Health Education. The AADF covers 95% of the funding for applicants’ and fellows’ participation in the program, which includes six months of custom-designed and mentored career training at a U.S host organization, an executive education program, an enrichment trip in the U.S., round-trip airfare, health, and travel insurance, support with the U.S. Visa application process, pre-departure orientation, and a monthly stipend to cover accommodation, local transportation, and personal expenses.

By mid-2024, a total of 85 fellows will have completed their internships, making significant contributions to the Albanian economy through their skills. Insights gathered from questionnaires and focus groups with MIP fellows reveal that they believe the program has significantly enhanced their career prospects and opened new opportunities for them to contribute their expertise.
