21/03/2024 Education & Leadership Albania is officially part of the CMS Experiment in the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) AADF, through the READ program, supports the collaboration between academics in Albania and Albanian diaspora academics, who work in the best universities and research centers in the world, to promote and improve the quality of scientific research. Recently, one of the milestones of the program is the collaboration between the University of Tirana and the Polytechnic University of Tirana, supported by Dr. Ilirian Margjeka from the National Institute of the Nuclear Physic in Bari. Through this collaboration, for the first time, Albanian and Albanian scientists are part of the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) into the prestigious European Organization for Nuclear Research. By signing the collaboration membership agreement, these institutions have joined a global quest that seeks to unravel the mysteries of the universe. This milestone is not just a leap for the universities involved but a giant stride for Albania, highlighting the nation’s role in the world of particle physics and fundamental research. The READ Program’s impact stretches beyond institutional affiliations, propelling a team of local and diaspora experts to pioneer advanced research in machine learning and nuclear network algorithms. AADF remains committed to supporting higher education development and ensuring these efforts resonate across the community, inspiring a new generation of scholars and innovators.
