The Authentic Albanian Experience in the ‘City of a Thousand Windows

 BID Berati stands out distinctly among its counterparts in Albania. Nestled along the picturesque boulevard by the Osumi River, it holds a unique vantage point overlooking the charming Gorica neighborhood and rests at the foot of the historic Mangalem quarter.

The concept of establishing a business improvement district in Berat was initially proposed in 2013. The initiative led by the AADF, in partnership with the Municipality of Berat and the local business community, recognized that such a project, along with its investments and forward-thinking vision, could potentially create an impact in the city that had not been experienced before.

The project is built upon four pillars: infrastructure enhancement, entrepreneurship development, establishment of a business association, and the enhancement of cultural and eco-tourism.

Over time, BID Berati has evolved into a transformative success story for both the city and its neighboring communities. It has significantly contributed to boosting the local residents’ sense of pride, fostering economic growth, and sparking increased tourism. This transformation has redefined Berat as the authentic Albanian experience for both local and foreign visitors.
