Entrepreneurship BID – Elbasan Castle Status On Going Budget Committed 745,000 USD The BID – Elbasan Castle Project seeks to revitalize one of Albania’s historically significant areas. Although the castle holds immense historical value, it has yet to reach its full potential as a tourist destination. Elbasan Castle is the largest inhabited castle on a flat surface in the Balkans. The castle dates from the 3rd century AD and represents a rich archive of Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman history. Despite its immense historical value, Elbasan Castle and surrounding areas have been largely underutilized as a tourist destination. This initiative aims to transform Elbasan Castle into a new destination for tourism while enhancing the cultural and economic framework of the community. AADF’s extensive experience in entrepreneurship and cultural heritage projects positions it as a key actor in this transformation. By integrating revitalization, community empowerment, promotion, and sustainable management, the project intends to revive historical sites and create a more inviting environment for visitors.
