Better View and Safer Access for Tourists to the Osumi Canyon

On 1st of June was organized in Çorovoda, Skrapar, the inauguration ceremony of the two Panoramic Balconies over Osumi canyon, a joint investment of the Albanian-American Development Foundation (AADF) and the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP). The ceremony was attended by the AADF Co-CEO, Martin Mata, TAP Albania Country Manager, Shkëlqim Bozgo, the Mayor of Skrapari, Nesim Spahiu, representatives from local organizations and businesses and residents. The total investment is 132,115 EUR, including the construction of the two balconies, supervisions and tourist signage.

The construction of two viewing platforms will allow tourists, visiting the Skrapar area, to have safe access to a bird’s-eye view over the canyon. Now that the two Panoramic Balconies, “Flag’s Panoramic Loop” and “Bride’s Hole”, are completed, it is expected that the town of Çorovoda and the surrounding Skrapar area will attract even more tourists throughout the year, further supporting local communities.

The construction works for the Panoramic Balconies of Osumi River started in October 2016.

“Flag’s Panoramic Loop” and “Bride’s Hole” panoramic balconies are expected to be visited by over 15.000 tourists per year.
