Culture & Eco-Tourism Empowering Museums through Technology Status On Going Budget Committed 710,000 USD Harnessing Technology to Preserve and Promote Cultural Heritage Technology can play a significant role in preserving and promoting the unique and sometimes rare museum collections that make up the tangible cultural heritage of Albania. The goal of the project is to empower museums by merging cultural heritage and new technology, providing resources for the sustainable development of museums as key pillars of the cultural tourism industry. After concluding the pilot phase, the project aims to establish a community of practitioners in Albania. This community will focus on enhancing professional capacities and facilitating the digitalization of national collections. These objectives will be achieved by adhering to the highest international standards of photographic practice through the National Imaging Unit. The expected outcome of the project includes a state–of–the–art scientific photographic record of Albania’s national collections, and a group of trained museum professionals capable of sharing their knowledge with others and performing digitalization in their institutions.
